Dodo Korea at Nu Sentral: A Payday Treat Worth the Trip
Discovering Dodo Korea at Nu Sentral—a quick, hearty Korean meal that hits all the right notes. Perfect for office workers looking for a satisfying lunch.

Since my office is only a 5-minute walk from Nu Sentral, I’ve walked past this place a million times. But it was only recently, fresh off payday on January 26th, that I finally decided to give Dodo Korea a try.
Timing is Everything
I visited after work around 5
PM, which turned out to be the perfect time. If you come here during the lunch rush (around 1-2 PM), you’re will queue up for a 20-minute - it’s extremely popular with the office crowd. But at 5 PM? We walked right in.
The “Tutorial”
I actually went with my boss, and also she the one that decided we eat at that place, which led to a bit of a funny moment. Since it was my first time, I honestly had no idea how the ordering system worked. It’s a bit like a “Korean Nasi Campur” assembly line, and I froze up a bit!
I ended up letting my boss go first so I could watch a live “tutorial” of how to order. Once I saw her do it, it was actually pretty simple—but that initial awkwardness was real.

The concept is straightforward: pick your base, choose your mains from the display, and the staff will assemble your bento box.

The RM 19-20 Set
The value here is honestly impressive. I went for the RM 19-20 combo set, which gets you a really solid combination:
- Rice
- Kimchi
- Kimchi Soup (or other soup)
- 2 Main Dishes (Lauk) of your choice

For the mains, you generally get to pick from options like Beef (Bulgogi), Chicken, Sotong (Squid), or Fried Fish. The portion size was definitely satisfying for the price.
Money-Saving Tip
The combo sets that let you mix 2 mains offer the best value. You get variety without breaking the bank.
The Taste
It’s a great spot if you want a quick, hearty meal that hits all those spicy, savory Korean notes without being too complicated. The kimchi soup complements the rice perfectly, and having two different proteins makes it feel like a feast.

The presentation in the bento box is neat and organized. Everything has its place, and you get little sides like watermelon and pickled vegetables to round out the meal.

The Verdict
If you work around KL Sentral, this is a no-brainer for a payday treat or just a heavy lunch. Just maybe try to avoid the peak lunch hour unless you like standing in line!
| Pros | Cons |

| Great value for money | Can get very crowded at noon |
| Quick service at off-peak hours | First-timers might feel confused |
