Dodo Korea at Nu Sentral: A Payday Treat Worth the Trip

Since my office is literally a 5-minute walk from Nu Sentral, I must have passed by this joint a million times. But right after payday on January 26th, I finally decided to give Dodo Korea a try.

Timing It Right

I stopped by right after work around 5 PM, which turned out to be the smartest decision ever. If you come during the peak lunch rush (around 1 to 2 PM), expect an easy 20-minute wait in line. It’s super viral on TikTok and a massive hit among office workers nearby.

At 5 PM though? Totally empty, walk right in without waiting!

The “Tutorial” Moment

I actually went with my boss, who was the one who picked the spot. Funny story: since it was my first time, I had zero clue how the ordering system worked. It operates like a “Korean mixed rice” assembly line, and I went blank for a second!

I ended up letting my boss step up to order first so I could watch a live “tutorial.” Once I saw how it worked, it was super straightforward—though that initial awkwardness was real, haha!

The concept is simple: pick your base/rice, pick your mains from the display, and the staff assembles your bento box on the spot.

For mall food prices in KL, the value here is seriously impressive. I went for the RM 19–20 combo set, which comes packed with a solid spread:

The presentation inside the bento tray is super neat. It even comes with watermelon slices and small pickled sides to balance out the meal.

Final Thoughts

If you work or find yourself around KL Sentral, this is a no-brainer spot for a payday treat or a heavy lunch. Just try to avoid the peak lunch rush unless you enjoy queuing!
