Obsession

A review of Obsession (2025). Watching via Zoom date with someone special, the mysterious One Wish Willow object, Nikki's creepy 'no no no' scene, and a lesson on specific wishes.
“It all starts with the One Wish Willow. And an important reminder: always be specific with your wishes!”
Honestly, I found out about this movie because I was invited to watch it over a Zoom date. And I was so happy to watch it together—after the movie ended, we even had a great discussion unraveling the whole plot.
The movie itself? I was genuinely captivated by how freakish and unique it was!

One Wish Willow & The Lesson of “Be Specific When You Wish”
Directed by Curry Barker, the film centers around a simple yet terrifying premise: a strange wooden mystical object called the One Wish Willow:

The concept is that the object grants a single wish to whoever holds it. Sounds tempting, right? But like all classic tales of wish-granting artifacts, there’s always a dark price and a distorted twist waiting in the shadows.
I won’t spoil the major plot points here. But if there’s one valuable (and slightly hilarious) takeaway we both agreed on after watching: ALWAYS BE SPECIFIC WITH YOUR PRAYERS AND WISHES! Hahaha 😭
If you ask for something without clear details and boundaries, fate (or in this case, the One Wish Willow) might fulfill it in a way you never intended—turning your wish into a dark, creepy obsession.
Nikki’s Scene: “No No No No…” That Gives Chills
One scene that really stuck in my head was the moment involving Nikki (played by Nikki Howard).

In this scene, Nikki repeats “no no no no…” with an unsettling facial expression and intense eyes that freeze the entire room. Clips of this moment went viral online, but watching it in the actual flow of the movie, the psychological horror tension hits just right.
Post-Movie Discussion & Closing Question
Watching a unique thriller while sharing your screen on a Zoom date with someone you really like brings a special kind of comfort. Plus, the late-night post-movie conversation where you bounce theories off each other is the best part.
By the way… if you were given the chance to hold an object like that… what would you wish for?? Just remember my advice: be super specific with your wording! wkwkwk.
